Hi from Borneo! Where I’m sweating in the jungle, while the cutest and naughty wild orangutans come around to visit at lunch and dinner. It is REALLY amazing.
Now to the beauty part. I always try to make time to get a professional spray tan prior to leaving for a tropical, sunny destinaton. I do this for two reasons. Numero uno, a spray tan helps preparing your skin for the sun by getting the melanin kick started ( I read about this in an article in Politiken newspaper 2 summers ago). Melanin is the natural pigment in our skin which gets darker when we’re in the sun, this provides some protection of our skin, meaning that when I get a spray tan just before I head to a sunny destination, I don’t get sun burnt as easily as if I didn’t. -I do of course also use SPF30 on my skin and face, the color become richer, I don’t get burnt at all and my tan last much longer!
This time I decided to try an organic spray tan. I chose Greenskin, a beauty shop and salon carrying only natural and organic products. The super sweet, professional spray girl (I forgot her name unfortunately!) decided to go for tan looking like ’a week in Spain, where I’d worn longs sleeves for 2 days but sort skirts every day’ meaning I left with a natural holiday tan, plus my legs got a little extra as my legs tends to stay pale.. She made sure the tan was as close to how the sun would have tanned me, by making my outer arms, shoulders, cheekbones etc a little darker.
I must say that I have never gotten a more natural looking and thorough spray tan.
